Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> ORA-12203 using 8.0.3 on Windows NT Workstation
All,
I have been trying - unsuccessfully - to get Oracle Server 8.0.3 running on my NT workstation (v4.0, service pack 5).
I did NOT choose to create any databases on startup, since I had <planned> to create these myself.
When I try
svrmgr30
I get the following error:
Oracle Server Manager Release 3.0.3.0.0 - Production
(c) Copyright 1997, Oracle Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
ORA-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination
SVRMGR>
Now (at the foot of the post I attach the sqlnet.log portion - if that
helps)...
(a) I have (and tried running or not running) the TNSListener80 service
running - it makes no difference to the error code above whether it is
running or not.
(b) I assume [correctly?] that the listener does NOT need to run for
svrmgr30 connection (it doesn't seem to require running on Solaris)
I ***have*** checked document ID's 1003502.6 and 1015259.4 from oracle support (i.e. ORA-12203 and TNS-12203), but could not resolve anything.
Any help - or if anybody else had this experience - please let me know!
Thanks and Regards,
Steve
