Hi Fans.

I try to install Oracle8.0.5 on Linux. So far so good. But when I want to install the "Oracle Standard RDBMS" or "SQL*Plus" I always get the following errormessage:

   x There are still sgadef<SID>.dbf file(s) in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/ x

x (/opt/oracle/dbs/). This indicates that there may still be x

x running instances. You must shut down all database instances x

x associated with this ORACLE_HOME before upgrading the Server. x

x Select (Yes) if you have shut down the instances from another x

x terminal/window. Select (No) to abort the installation. x

On the computer was no Oracle database installed befor. Is there a trick ??
With Oracle 8.0.5pre I had no problems.

Ciao Guddl
