Also, simple character 80X24 screens display quickly over modem connections - procude the old style SQLPLUS report, fire up your viewer on the remote machine and view the display over the modem connection. I use these reports a lot when working from home. (Mainly dba type reports, extents, file useage etc, but also a simple interface to our Help Desk system).
