Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> Reports 2.5 use of variables
Perhaps this is a stupid question but I cannot figure it out.
I'm fairly new to Reports 2.5 and I want to display some information on a report based on a choice I make when I run the report. For example I have a user variable of SORT with choices of 'Prod Code' and 'Description' and depending on which I choose, I set SORT to the appropriate order by clause and use &SORT as a lexical reference in the query. This works fine.
I also want to display the chosen sort order on the report. I've tried various things but either I get errors or the variable isn't available for me to choose when adding a field on the report.
How can this be accomplished? Can anyone shed some light on this? Perhaps share an example? Thanks.
Steve
