i had some problems with 16bit-visual basic using a 32bit odbc driver.
the problems led to strang error-messages. the only solution was the
use of a 16 bit odbc-driver



try to access the oracle from access 2.0 via the same odbc-connection
if this works it can only be a problem of vb.
