You may set the default date format to 'DD-MON-RR'. You may set this in all the clients by:
For 16-bit clients, put "NLS_DATE_FORMAT=DD-MON-RR" in the file ORACLE.INI For 32-bit clients, put "NLS_DATE_FORMAT=DD-MON-RR" in the registry.
