Hot Cloning from DR

Hi
We are on 12.2 with local undo so hot cloning is supported.
We clone from our data guard standby though and so far we always turn off
the redo apply before we clone from DR.
Do we really need to turn off the redo apply ?
I can not find any documents about hot cloning from DR
