I agree with you John, I remember having a scenario where I want to have a time series Interconnect Traffic on 3 node RAC environment on 10.2.0.4. I need to get this data to correlate if I'm having an interconnect saturation. Apparently 10g does not have a DBA_HIST table for it... so I was using kSar (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ksar/) and checking it against the raw AWR reports you can see the details on this image

I'm still on the process of figuring out how to get the "Estimated Interconnect traffic" in a time series manner in 10gR2 but on the newer version here are the relevant DBA_HIST views...

In 11g
Interconnect Ping Latency Stats - DBA_HIST_INTERCONNECT_PINGS

In 11gR2
Interconnect Throughput by Client - DBA_HIST_IC_CLIENT_STATS Interconnect Device Statistics
- DBA_HIST_IC_DEVICE_STATS, DBA_HIST_CLUSTER_INTERCON
