Hello everyone,

I'm setting up a new test server and plan on using Red Hat EL 5 and 10gR2 with ASM for this one. However, there doesn't seem to be an asmlib available for RH5. Notes on Metalink indicate that Oracle will help me do this on a test bed, but on round one of the support request, the suggested solution was to 'install Red Hat 4'. For round two, I've re-requested an answer for the original question but in the meantime, is anyone using asmlib with Red Hat 5?

My options are:

1. Fall back to RH 4
2. Stay with RHEL 5 and configure with raw devices
3. Stay with RHEL 5 and wait for Oracle to provide a workable asmlib
solution

This is just a basic test server - no RAC or clusters - just a multi-database test bed on a single server for sub-TB databases.

tia ... Robyn
