Jared is basically right, but there are some "loopholes".
You may want to read SAP note 355770. It refers specifically to using OEM in an SAP environment, but it has links to other notes concerning SAP on Oracle that would probably interest you.

Seriously.
All oracle management should be done through SAP tools.
Sorry, I do not know of any Best Practices papers.
Try SAP specific sites.Google for SAP Users Group.
