Mike,

        Your NOT betting your backside on a UPS to hold you up in the event of a power failure not are you??? We've been bite twice by one bad battery in the string.

I would bet anyone, on the current Siebel system we are trying to tune, that even if we told the users of the risks of above, that we could increase performance even 20%, they would not only say "do it", they would give us a bonus.

Of course, that same management would have us booted when the server does inevitably crash and we lost even one transaction (but hopefully we'd be long gone by then????).
