Anybody knows why HASH_AJ and HASH_SJ are deprecetad in 10g?

Oracle introduced much more in 10g then what is deprecated.
You have a lots of NO_ hints to not use something like NO_USE_NL. Of course all these hints are evil in according to Tom Kyte and should not be used. But of course it is easier to spend many days fighting statistics.

Are there any tool on the market to recommend what statistics should be for the certain SQL :)
