Hi!

Oracle 1 - year 1978 (when I was born ;)

• Platform PDP-11 / RSX (with 128kB of mem)
• written in assembler
• Oracle code and user code was separated (I believe because problems with addressing over 64kB of memory)

Oracle 2 - 1980

• Written in PDP-11 asm
• Ran undex VAX/VMS

Oracle 3 - 1982

• Written in C
• Transaction capability

Oracle 4 - 1984

• Had read consistency
• Ported to several platforms

Oracle 5 - 1986

• Client Server
• Cluster support (VAX)

Oracle 6 -1989

• Online backup & recovery
• Row level locking, stored PL/SQL
• Parallel Server
