You could ask for your IP to be forwarded on the two servers... but if security is an issue then i doubt that will happen... if it isn't then .. ipfwadm (or iptables) on *nix or "route add" on NT, on both servers and bob's your uncle.

The sys admin of the martian net server probably has ip filtering applied. The filter rules probably allow tcp port 23 connections to the server, but not icmp. Take them a bag of m&m candy and ask for help.
