<RANT>
When I'm logged onto the Unix system as user "oracle" using 9i, Oracle refuses to allow me to log into it by just using "/". It insists that always include the two words " / as sysdba"! Since it precludes me from logging into Oracle just using "/", what is gained by forcing me to always specify "as sysdba", too???? </RANT>
