Forms 4.5: two problems.

Hello everyone,

I have got two problems as far as Oracle Forms is concerned:

• i have two blocks in a master-detail relationship and i want to insert one record in the detail and the corresponding one in the master. The problem is that i need to make the two insert operations simultaneously, but if i cause a trigger with the COMMIT_FORM command to fire, the application refuses the insert. I suppose it is due to the fact that it tries to insert before in the detail and then in the master. I ask if there is a way to tell Forms which is the first block to save during the COMMIT_FORM.
• the same two blocks are related each other by means of a field (the primary key in the master and the foreign key in the detail) having the same datatype (CHAR(8)). If i have a query which specifies a value of that field having less than 8 characters, Forms doesn't recognize the records matching that value.
