Hello All Cool ,
I have recently installed Oracle 9i on my machine. I'm not able to connect to the database because of the TNS problems and listener problems. I tried configuring through Net Configuration Assistant, but didnt work. My global database name = richa , SID = richa, host = localhost. Can anyone guide me as to what all things i need to check and do to make it work. I'm getting these errors in SQL developer, Toad as well as in sql plus Sad .

Please help Smile .

Thanks a lot in advance.
Richa

ORA-12224: "TNS:no listener"
*Cause: The connection request could not be completed because the listener
 is not running.
*Action: Ensure that the supplied destination address matches one of
the addresses used by the listener - compare the TNSNAMES.ORA entry with
the appropriate LISTENER.ORA file (or TNSNAV.ORA if the connection is to
go by way of an Interchange). Start the listener on the remote machine.
