hi all,

i created oracle 10g database on windows platforms with 10.2.0.1.0 release.

database was sucessfully created.

when i tried to run CATALOG.SQL and CATALOG.SQL i am getting error with ora-01012 : not logged on.

after that i exited from sqlplus and tried connecting as sysdba and issued some queries like startup it asked me to shudown first and restart the instance again.

when i issued shutdown , i am getting error like this:--

ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 2
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 16 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","select obj#,type#,ctime,mtim...","sql area","kglhin: t
mp")
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 40 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","select value$ from props$ wh...","Typecheck","qcsqlpat
: qcsAddSqlPath")

Kindly give me some solution to solve my issue.

Regards,
Balaji

Use a greater value for shared pool.
Oracle needs a lot of memory to create the catalog and related objects.
