Two major announcements for today:

- Oracle announced that it entered into an agreement to acquire BEA Systems, Inc. (http://www.oracle.com/bea/index.html)

- Sun Microsystems agreed to acquire MySQL AB for $1 billion in cash (http://radar.oreilly.com/archives/2008/01/sun_acquires_mysql.html)
