currently i am working in oracle 10 g. I use stored procedures. If I run one procedure it's hanging then the whole session is terminated.i am not able to sort out this problem.could anyone help me out

Did you trace that session ?
Enable sql tracing and post here trace output.

Search SQL_TRACE for how to trace your session.

Why your title is "getover the lock on the table"?
Did you see any lock on table?
Also post your Oracle version with 4 decimals.
