I am configring logical standby database. the logical standby database is created, when I start the alter database start logical apply, it says database altered, but the lsp process terminates and gives error ora-16524 and ora-00444.
what could be the problem.

ORA-00444:	background process "string" failed while starting
Cause:	Usually due to a bad (or non-existent) background process image.
Action:	Get a good background process image.

This is one for Support.
The message basically says "your executable seems to be corrupt."
