How to execute a .sql file in sqlplus editor ? [message #255301]

Hi,

I have a set of SQL commands in a .sql file in my local machine. I have connected to the Oracle DB through sqlplus client. I want to execute the .sql file which is present in the local machine. How can I achieve that ?

Use "start" command.

Hi,

I have tried it , but it says 'unable to open the file'.
Note: The DB is in some other sever and the .sql file is on my desktop. So, Do I need to export the file to the server etc. If so, what are the commands for the same.

SQL*Plus and script must be on the same machine which may not be the database server.
Verify your path and access rights.
