Creating an index on a table with data [message #248933]

Question about creating an index on a table that already has data in it. Will the previous rows in the table be indexed when i create the new index? If not how can i have the previous rows indexed?

Thanks.

I'm using Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition

yes. Depending on how many rows are in the table, it may take a long time.
