I am Running RHEL 4 and I'm trying to start the listener and I'm getting the following error:

[root@rh-staging Apache]# lsnrctl start LSNR_FPRCQA

Such an error is symptomatic that LD_LIBRARY_PATH is not properly defined.

I'm facing the exact same error (can't get the listener started in general) but LD_LIBRARY_PATH has been set and the library file is in the folder.

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/lib32
ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1

(I also tried lib instead of lib32, with the same result.)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a same problem with this...

library path has been set.

u using IBM Xeon 64 bit, os RHELL 5.7 Oracle 10.2g.

[root@server ~]# rpm -Uvh oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.2.0.x86_64.rpm

Ah, so it is actually a completely DIFFERENT problem.

php-oci8-5.1.6 seems to need oracle-instantclient-10.2.0.3. So either use a newer php-oci or an older oracle. They have to match.
