Hello all,
Here we have 200 machines connected to the server.
I have a problem on the client machine (NT/XP machines), when i try to connect using oracle client sqlplus 3.1/9.2 or any other applications, i get the error ora-03113.
If the connection is successful also, some time between the transaction the connection breaks.
The issue is very serious as it is a production database, and because of the the production is getting halted.

The memory configuration is as follows
shared pool - 356
buffer cache - 254
large pool - 80
pga - 500

If the service is restarted then it works fine for a day or such and later the problems repeats.

Any suggestion on this is appreciated.

thanks in advance
rsenthil

Hai Taj,
thanks for the reply.
Hey my oracle license has expired, at present i cannot contact oracle for help. Regarding the trace file, tracing is on but i dont know why i am getting any info regarding this. Any other suggestion.

Hey once this problem was there before 3 weeks, at that time i created new listener log file and update the large pool size to 80mb, which made things work but only uptill now.
Now, do u want me to do the same.

My question is i am running 2 other database which is linked with on the same machine, which is not generating any problem.

regards
rsenthil

No, There is no problem you can have more than one database in single machine or more than one ORACLE_HOME also.

also take a look below link
http://www.dba-oracle.com/m_ora_03113_end_of_file_on_communications_channel.htm

and location of dump file you can find out through below query.
sql>show parameter dump

Hey Taj,
that is what Taj, i get the error message every second, for instance when i try to log using sqlplus normally you have 3 tries, i try for 2 times and get this error some time later i try for the 3rd time it gets connected. some time, even after few minutes it generates this error, and more importantly, no other ora error messages such as ora 02608 ora ora 03114 with it.

i am completely fed up with this Taj.
