How to reduce storage of LOBs...? [message #195015]

Hi ,

we have a 9i Prod database under Linux.
The application at the end user is storing the scanned LOB images into the database.
The scanned LOBs consume about 2MB for each records.

How can we reduce the storage of the scanned LOBs before storing into the database..?

Plz help being the space issue...

Obviously, in previous post i missed the point.
May i ask, why?
I still like database compression for the same reason stated by Tom in above URL.

Question is, why would you like compress before storing into database instead of compressing inside the database?
