Hi,

I'm trying to install Oracle 9i (release 2) on solaris 9. Below are my env settings

$ env
_=/bin/env
HZ=100
PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/opt/local/GNU/bin:/usr/java/bin:/oracle/u01/app/products/9.2.0/bin
ORACLE_BASE=/oracle/u01/app
EDITOR=vi
LOGNAME=oracle
DISPLAY=172.18.38.105:0.0
SHELL=/usr/bin/ksh
JAVA_HOME=/usr/java
HOME=/export/home/oracle
AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/oracle/u01/app/products/9.2.0/lib:/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/dt/lib:/usr/ucblib:/usr/local/lib
TERM=xterm
ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/u01/app/products/9.2.0
PWD=/dctm/swdumps/Oracle/Disk1

When i try to do a silent installation, ( ./runInstaller1 -silent -responseFile clientadmin.rsp) the installation hangs at

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from /tmp/OraInstall2006-09-12_04-33-33PM/jre/bin/java. Please wait...

There are no logs files in OraInventory Directory.

I have created the oraInst.loc file in /var/opt/oracle

Can someone help plz?

Regards
SKK

make sure your /tmp dirctory have atleast 500M of free space available for install. More is better.

try providing actual path of response file..also see how if you make any progress by adding "force" parameter

e.g.
runinstaller -silent -force -responseFile "/home/oracle/9i_server.rsp"
