Want ti install 8i on a windows 2003 server [message #178152]

I am trying to install 8i EE on a windows 2003 server. The cd autorun runs and I get to the first splash menu and then I click on the Install link and the program just drops. I have java jre 5 running on the server. Anyone now the install steps for 8i on win 2003 server?

I did't exeperience this kind of setup before ,maybe you wanted to check on the installation log

i believe it locate at inventory folder for oracle ?

I think Oracle 8i is not certified for Win 2003. Is there any particular reason why you don't install Oracle9iR2 (the first release certified for Windows 2003)? You are not running a production database (because Oracle8i is desupported a long time ago) and Oracle9i is available at otn without any charge (read the license agreement for the details but you cannot use it in a production environment).

Boss take the dump from cd to your local drive. search for symcjit.dll rename this file to symcjit.old in the dump of your local disk and then run the setup will solve your problem.
