Hi easwar,

Set the profile option "Allow Preparer Approve" to Yes, if the person who prepared the journal should be able to approve it.

If not, the journal should pass thro' the workflow approval process based on the Approver method set in the GL profile option. You can go through the GL user manual and workflow documents for more details.
