Hi,

I want to implement a login concept for an application developed with jdeveloper 10.1.2 and deployed to Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2.
My expectation: Whenever the application is invoked, the login dialog is the first site in internet browser to authenticate the user.

A file based security seems to be the easiest way to implement such a solution, where an XML-based file is used as the repository for users, roles, and policies (default security provider) and I don’t need to create or modify any java classes. (No JAVA experience:-) )

As far as I understand the concept in " Oracle Containers for J2EE Security Guide
10g Release 3 (10.1.3)" , it is to do in two steps:
1. Edit the XML-Files (system-jazn-data.xml, ...) throughout Configuring the File-Based Provider during Application Deployment.
2. Configuring RealmLoginModule and Packaging and Deploying Login Module.

Is this the right way to implement this requirement?
Is there perhaps another simpler way to authenticate the user for a deployed application (no java programming)?

Thanks in advance

Tarlanim
