The database is running, the listener is running. The tnsnames.ora file on the server and on my xp box look okay.

Why would I get:

ORA-12505 TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor

What is up?

I had a stray line of code in the listener.ora file. It is fixed now!
