This canot happen bcoz u have installed 2 OS but only one will be active at single time better u can use VMWARE so that a virtual OS environment can be set up (say u can install Linux in the vertual machine) and try the same thing. In the linux install the oracle client applcation and check for the mandatory and see the (tnsnames.ora) if everything is OK then u can conect oracle which is running in windows from Linux (making Both OS running same time)

I wants to set up a client/server environment in a single computer,by

installing Oracle 9i server on windows & Oracle client on Linux.

Since I'm using a single machine,i can't use the same os at the same

time.As you told, the solution for this problem is installing Linux on

VMWARE.

Please anyone tell me,

1) where & Which VMWARE software i've to download to do this setup?
2) Do i've to install Linux in VMWARE after installing appropraite VMWARE
software?

Urgent plz...

Thanks,
Gajini.
