Hi all,
What should be the steps to tune a query.I am just starting it.So experts please reply.I know only one step,explain plan.But what is cost and other parameters in the output.

i just want to know how can i know the performance is poor ,only by looking at the time taken by the database to give the result or any thing else.Please reply.
