Hi All,
I used to use "oiconnect" (from client machine) to check whether the DB (on server machine) is up or not, however, if the DB is down, the "oiconnect" takes serveral minutes to time out. I've also tried to use "tnsping" but it still takes serveral minutes to time out if the listener is down. Is there any parameters to shorten the time out period for oiconnect/tnsping? Or is there any other utilities I can use? Thanks a lot!!
