Our users utilize MS Access for reporting that queries an Oracle database. When a user links an Oracle table in MS Access, the table row can be updated or deleted. In a attempt to prevent this from happening, I've created a role and granted select on table(many tables) to the role. I then altered the user by making this role the default. This seems to work when connecting via ODBC using Oracle Enterprise Manager, but doesn't when the table is linked via MS Access. I'm open to suggestions as to how to prevent this from happening.
