Hi,

I have two users on sun and we are using C-SHELL
user1 and user2, they belong to group staff. If one user creates a file the user cannot execute it untill the user issues chmod command.
I want that whenever one user creates a file the execution rights on the file should be automatically given to the group.
I have tried umask settings in .cshrc file but of no use. Can any one help me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply. I need more help than that. I have written earlier that i have used UMASK command and gone thru it but it still doesnot allow me to create a file which execute permissions to the grp.
Is this a security restriction of SUN/UNIX ?

Thanks

Sorry - I didn't see that. I use umask 022 in my .profile (ksh) to set default privs.
