oracle 8.1.7 setup fails before showing installer, jrew problem? [message #97687]

Hi i've read the problem before, but i couldn't find an answer yet (messages were deleted from server)
But i'm trying to install oracle 8.1.7client on my P4 win2000sp3 machine, but the installation stops before showing the universal installer.
Possibly the problem is java and or P4 related.

Any of you have the answer?

1.copy the contents of the cd to your local folder

2. rename symcjit.dll to some other name

3. then try to install from ur local drive
