I have installed oracle 8 server on HP Unix 10.20.
Oracle resides on a cluster( Comman space for 2 Unix servers). This cluster is kept up and running continously.
I am having probllems of Oracle server hanging(nt repondig).Oracle starts when I restart my Unix system.
Does this happen due to Oracle being run continously.
Should it be stopped(Unix system) once in a while?

No, there is no need to sut down Oracle at intervals. You need to find out exactly when Oracle stops responding and link that time to some other event on the system. See the contents of your alert{sid}.log
