Connecting Forms 6i and Personal Oracle [message #78875]

I have installed personal oracle 8 and then forms 6i in my personal computer with window 98. Personal oracle 8 is working fine when i connect form the sql*plus. However, i am not being able to connect to oracel from any of the products (forms, procedure builder or its sql*plus) from the developer.

Your help will be greatly appreciated. Please help.....

i have created two separate folders for oracle and developer.

As far as I know, Forms 6i is for WinNt platforms. You can install Forms 6.0 to your platform.

Well just opne Net8 easy config from froms folder and add a service with bequeth (local process) or add a service with TCP/IP protocol with host as ur computer name which u can see from network identification, and port ast 1521.
For TCP/IP u need to have ur listener up and started. For that.. type lsnrctl in dosprompt and type start to start it. Thats it you are up and running with forms.
