I need to access my oracle 9i database onto web. How is the best way to do this? What I need?

I know that the oracle connects with a port (likely 1521) and execute DML by another ports, never the same. This is bad because the database is behind a firewall.

Thanks,
Erico

9i comes with it's own Apache ($ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache). That is useful if you want to use MOD_PLSQL (write your code using the OWA_* packages etc). If you want your app. server to be on the other side of a firewall, then yet you will need to open a port although I'd choose something other than 1521.
