Hi ,

I need to set the nls_language and nls_territory to American America. Currently it is 'MEXICAN SPANISH' so the ORA- error comments are coming in Spanish. How can I set this to AMERICAN AMERICA. When I go thru the oracle documents(Setting Up a Globalization Support Environment) , it gives the command for session and environments but not for the initialization parameters. Please help me to change NLS_LANGUAGE in the initialization parameter . Current values are given below .

SQL> select * from nls_database_parameters;

You change them as you change any other parameters: modifying init.ora or using ALTER SYSTEM.
However, note that any setting you made at instance level will be overridden by client ad session settings.
