hi,

I am using oracle golden gate to replicat data from mysql to oracle following below error.

ERROR   OGG-00146  VAM function VAMInitialize returned unexpected result: error 600 - VAM Client Report <CAUSE OF FAILURE : Failed to retrieve log file name
WHEN FAILED : While setting initial position in the binary log file
WHERE FAILED : MySQLBinLog Reader Module

I don't use Golden Gate.

However, this "error 600" reminds me of ORA-00600 which is usually bad news. Shortly, you should contact Oracle Support. Of course, I might be completely wrong so you might want to wait for another opinion.
