Why don't you use the db home to connect "/ as sysdba"?

Michel

because we are not allowed to use the user oracle. We are not DBAs, we are DB users.
Other team is responsible for DB administration.

1) What is the relation between using the db home as your Oracle home and being oracle user?
2) If you are not DBA then why do you want to connect AS SYSDBA? How are you allowed to connect AS SYSDBA?

This is the silliest organization I ever saw.
We, on our side, remove SYSDBA from DBA and you, you allow SYSDBA to anyone! wtf.

Regards
Michel
