Advantages of Type Objects over Packages [message #492831]

Hello there,
I wanted to know what advantes would i get by using an OO approach while designing my system than using stored procedures (packages)
For eg. i have a process flow called Category( From creation to Being published and the intermediate actions involved in the lifecycle of the category process flow).

now, what advantes would i have if i created an Type Object which would house all the methods related to this flow and then utilize it, over creating a stored procedure(package) to do the same.

It will be really helpful to have an insight into this!!! Cool

I suggest you are asking the WRONG question.

What about the disadvantages of trying to combine RDBMS with OO?

The combination flies as well as a BRICK flies.

Oops! i meant using Objects in PL/sql(RDBMS) only not in any other programming language, the desing of the sytem is in oracle i.e business logic.
