Retreiving from the Data is slow [message #488967]

Hi,

I'm extracting/retrieving the data from the oracle database using Java application it's bit slow. However, when I retrieve from the SQL server it's faster than oracle.

Please help me to fix this.

You're comparing two different DBs? Do they have the same tables? data?

Trace the session and see where the time is being spent.

Yes, they have same tables and they are also in same Network.

More seriously, are you use the same app? Its notoriously difficult to optimize a single app for two different databases, could it be the app is optimized for SQL server architecture?

Thanks for your replies....I'm using same application and it is not optimized to sql server. I will try to get the information.
