Item code in excel [message #487937]

Hello,
I published a report in the inventory module as XML report.
When I open the output in excel the items code converted to a date.
I.e if I have item code like '01/04/01' it convert in the excel to '01/04/2001'.

How can I solve this problem.

Hi,

I assume you are using a RTF template for this inventory report. How did you set the 'Text Form Field Options'?

Hello,
Yes I used RTF template.
The type of the filed is "regular text"
I left the "text format" empty as the default.

Hi,

Not sure if this can be solved in a nice way. Found a note saying:

This is not a BI Publisher issue but due to the way MS Excel is working.
MS Excel is treating the field as number instead of a character.

As a Workaround you may try to modify your template by adding a character to this field in order to force MS Excel to treat it as character and not as number.

You might give it a try to add a ' in front of the actual item code.
