Plan to configure HTTP Load Balancing in existing 11.5.10.2 environment with form load balancing in two nodes.
Can this be done and will this be a good approach?

Hi,

do you want only Forms loadbalancing, or also Apache? The first can be done by software with the Metrics Server and Client. See MOS note: 148155.1 for that.
For loadbalancing the webserver too, you'll need a hardware loadbalancer. Then set up eBS to take advantage of it through the web-entry parameters in Autoconfig.

Thanks for the response.
I'm sorry for not spell out clearly on my question. We had implemented form load balancing long time back and my question is can we implement http load balance using hardware on top of the form load balancing?

Can it be done and will this appropriate?

Hi,

I think it can be done, even though I never tried it.
Question is why you would want to try both. It is easier to handle all traffic through the hardware loadbalancer. Adding a forms metric server, will only complicate the setup.

Once you load-balance through hardware, there is no need to repeat the same process through software (metrics server).
