oracle10g on UBUNTU for DBA [message #473226]

HI

I am new to Oracle10g DBA . Can any body tell me is oracle10g is installed on UBUNTU same like as RHL4.

If not kindly tell me the process to install

and I am already using Oracle10g XE on windows xp now i need to do the partition the OS and install the UBUNTU Is this cause any harm to computer .........

Oracle is not supported on Ubuntu.

SQL> select * from v$version;

BANNER

With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
bcm@bcm-laptop:~$ uname -a
Linux bcm-laptop 2.6.32-24-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Thu Aug 19 01:38:40 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
bcm@bcm-laptop:~$

but it can be made to work.
