How to delete Source file used by Oracle external table [message #454440]

Hi,

I'm getting the following error message while deleting the source file used by Oracle external table. The table already been dropped, and now attempting to delete the file and getting this error.

SQL> host del acctinv.txt
E:\GCIMS\Data\acctinv.txt

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

How to know which process is using this file, and how to kill that process? Please advice.

Close if you already open that file & then try to delete

Exit from SQL*Plus and delete it and OS level, YOU are using the file.

I shutdown the database, and reboot the server but still not able to remove the file and still getting the same error message.

Use Unlocker (although it is probably better to release the file, only if you knew what's holding it).

Using Unlocker is rejected by System Administrator due to security reasons. Please let me know any other work around.

CTRL+ALT+DEL works. Finally, I'm able to remove the file.
