Hi,

When you say select there is always a cursor involved. Whether its implicit or explicit is the question. And you are right... implicit are faster.

Try to use SQLJ or PROC(emedding sql directly into java or c) in this fashion you can use java or C array to fetch more records and keep it
in a array and write it to a file.
